Antique Incline-Plate Clock

'Incline-Plate Clock' from the British Museum. I couldn’t fully decipher its inner workings from reference alone, but I aimed to recreate it as accurately and believably as possible.

Modeled in Blender using a mid-high-to-low poly workflow. I used bevel and subdivision modifiers for the high-poly model. Texturing in Substance Painter, I focused on aged brass and wood with realistic patina. Rendered in Unreal Engine with Lumen, s simple blue background and a high-quality glass shader.

Prioritizing fidelity over strict optimization, the model sits at 130k triangles, allowing for detailed cogs and smooth curvature. For high quality I used two 8k texture sets and a 2K texture set. However, I also include a lower res texture sets that are more suitable for an engine with two 2K a 1K set.
